Autumn fun at the 29th SW Leeds Scout Group...

  • Cub and Scout Sconce 2018

    Cubs and Scouts enjoyed some warm Autumn sunshine as they shared fun and friends at Sconce campsite near Baildon. Photos now available in the links section.

  • Cub Football Finalists

    Well done to the Cubs who came 2nd this weekend in the District Cub Scout 5-a-side football competition. A great achievement worthy of the mighty England.

  • Thackeray Medical Museum 2018

    Cubs had a fascinating experience in 19th Century Leeds, looking at how horrific living conditions were and some of the gruesome medical practices of the time. The Thackeray Medical Museum was a great day out for all. Further pics can be seen via the Links page.

  • Cub Scout Forum 2018

    Cub Scouts spent time at Bramhope Camp discussing the future of Scouting, learning leadership skills and also sharing some of the activities on site. Photos can be found in the Links section.

  • Cub Scout Camp 2018

    Cub scouts spent the coldest weekend of the year in snow at Blackhills campsite in Bradford. a lot of fun was had by all and well done to the parents who braved the Beast from the East to pick up their Scouts. More photos can be seen in the Links section.

  • Group Camp 2016

    The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from the DYB Unit returned to Silverwood Campsite near Barnsley for a 'Party' themed weekend to celebrate the Cubs Centenary and Beaver birthday. We spent a day at the local animal sanctuary,took part in party games and ate party food, hiked and enjoyed loads of activities.   • Jubilee Venture 2015

    Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, leaders and parents all enjoyed a ride along the Calder Canal between Wakefield and Cooper Bridge. The photos share many of the sights and sounds of the canal and can be seen via our Flikr page in Links.

  • Group Camp Sconce 2015

    The wild, wild west was the theme. Watersports was the main activity. And fun was the order of the day. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts had a fantastic time at Sconce campsite and Reva reservoir. Over 200 photos can be seen via the links page. see if you can spot your Beaver, Cub or Scout?

  • Scout Hiking Camp Madge Hill 2015

    A group of Scouts and Explorers followed through their plans in the Scout Hall over Winter with a hike and camp from Summerbridge via Pateley Bridge and Madge Hill campsite to Brimham Rocks. In windy conditions they did really well and had plenty of stories to tell around the fire. Photos can be shared via the Links section on our Flikr account.

  • Croatia 2014

    36 Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders flew to Croatia for a special water based camp. The photos are available on the links page through Flikr and show in full the eight days of swimming, sea-kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, jumping, fish-picnicking, historical, exploring, mountain biking, Venice visiting, midnight swimming, sunsetting FUN!

  • Group Camp 2014

    The sun shone and Silverwood campsite near Barnsley was the destination for the 29th SW Leeds Group Camp 2014. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders and adults enjoyed a weekend hiking, pioneering, backwoods cooking, playing games and dressing up under the theme of 'Le Grand Depart'. With cries of 'Oooo La La' and 'oiu, oui, oui' the highlights included a French themed fancy dress camp fire, a massive water fight and Penistone Cycles'  Sunday morning bike games, safety and maintenance.   • Cardboard Camp - Sconce

    12 brave Scouts and 2 brave leaders spent a night sleeping in a cardboard box at Sconce campsite on 16/17 November to raise awareness of National Homelessness Week. As well as sleeping in a tent made from cardboard for the night, the Scouts also learnt about homelessness and even had time for a camp fire (well away from the cradboard tents!).   • Group Camp - Fan Wood

    The 29th SW Leeds joined forces with 1st Stanningley and 1st SW Leeds to experience the activities on offer at Fan Wood Campsite near Cleckheaton. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders had a go at the bouldering wall, the cave, low ropes, archery, the night line assault course, circus skills and of course many games, campfire and lots of fun. Pictures are now available via the Links page. Thanks to everyone who helped organise this fantastic camp...oh and the weather gods for providing us with a warm, sunny weekend in October.

  • Bramhope - Karts & Towers

    Scouts took the minibus up to Bramhope for some Summer night activities. Half of the group went up the climbing tower with Jeff Keeton, the rest were given the green light to race around the oval on pedal karts. The whole evening was a fantastic experience and everyone finished the night with a drink from the tuckshop and a few knocks and bruises. Although one of the pedal karts came off worst with a sheared off axle - no names. Photos for the night can be picked up on flikr through the links section.

  • Group Camp 2013

    The sun shone, the water glistened and the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts enjoyed a fabulous Group Camp at Sconce. Photos are now available via  the Group News, Links section or diect from flikr. Please also read all about the camp in Group News.

  • Scout Winter Camp - Wike

    11 Scouts braved sub-zero temperatures and camped (in tents!) at Wike as part of the West Leeds District Scout Winter Camp. Read more in the 'Scout News from the Lookout' and in the photo section.

  • Austria 2012

    Cubs, Scouts and Explorers learnt how to ski in Holzgau, Austria, Easter 2012. It was an experience never to be forgotten. See news and photos.

  • Group Camp 2012

    Beavers, Cubs and Scouts recently enjoyed unusually calm and sunny weather for September, experiencing a fantastic camp at Sconce Campsite, near Baildon. See news and photos.
